FAQs
What's the difference between a 401 (k) and an IRA?
A 401 (k) is an employer-sponsored retirement plan and you are limited to the investments the employer offers. An IRA is an individual retirement account that individuals open through a bank or a brokerage firm and it allows you to invest in many different stocks, bonds, or mutual funds.
What's the difference between a Roth and Traditional IRA?
Traditional IRA contributions are deductible from taxes and your account grows tax-deferred. You pay taxes when you withdraw your funds in retirement. Roth IRA contributions are not deductible but your account grows tax free and you pay no taxes when you withdraw your funds in retirement.

Your Credit Union (“Financial Institution”) provides referrals to financial professionals of LPL Financial LLC (“LPL”) pursuant to an agreement that allows LPL to pay the Financial Institution for these referrals. This creates an incentive for the Financial Institution to make these referrals, resulting in a conflict of interest. The Financial Institution is not a current client of LPL for advisory services.
